Last week
Jordan G. played her first 2 games in goal. She did great. She was confidant and
blocked many shots on goal for her team. She worked hard at practice and at home and was game ready! Jordan has been
playing for GCVSA now for a few seasons. Her true calling for lacrosse is in the goal cage.
Many Thanks to Jordan for being last week's MVP SUPER STAR!
Many Thanks to
Maggie S. Maggie works consistently hard on the field and has terrific stick skills and some very
fast feet! Maggie plays Center and Attack and scored a Whopping 5 goals in the game this week. Maggie pushes herself at
practice and that is what every coach wants to see. Maggie is a pleasure to coach and is fun to be around. Her smile
warms you right up and we are so thrilled to have her on our team this year. My guess is that Maggie will be playing
lacrosse for many more years because she just keeps getting better and better. Great Job Maggie! You are this week's MVP SUPER STAR!!!
Olivia M. is a returning Lacrosse Player to GCVGL and is our MVP Star Player this week!
Olivia is a pleasure to coach. She works hard at every practice and takes it very seriously. Olivia pays attention
and never has to be told twice what is expected of her. During last Saturdays game, Olivia scored 2 points in the first
7 minutes of the first half. Olivia is a fast runner with exceptional stick skills, is practically unstoppable in the
danger zone, can catch a pass from nearly anywhere, dodges like a pro and can play any position asked of her on the field
and play it well. This is a girl who has an incredible athletic career ahead of her and I am so proud to have her on our
team this season. Way to go Liv!
Brenna R. is back for a third season with our lacrosse team. Brenna is a team player with
dedication and great athletic ability. Brenna is the kind of player who can play anywhere on the field, and does
so willingly without argument. Last Sunday we had our first game of the season and I found out shortly before
the game that our goalie for the week was unable to attend the game. I called Brenna only an hour and a half
before game time and asked her to play in the cage as the keeper. She immediately said "sure". This was her
first time in goal and she was excited and not the least bit intimidated! I brought Brenna to the field an hour
before the game to get her suited up and do some "training". In the end Brenna had some amazing saves and gave
the team her all. We are so proud of Brenna for stepping up and doing such a terrific job with such little practice.
This week Brenna earned the Team MVP Achievement Award. The entire team was so proud of her. Thank you Brenna for
being this week’s "SHINING STAR!" GO...FLAMES!
