IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Bridget, Elizabeth, Reilly Kate and Jordan.
The girls are unstoppable at this point in our season. They are so fast. Chris and I watch them race across the field and look for passes and look for help and open shots. They completely understand the field positions and are covering their opponents like white on rice. Our defense is strong and our attack , a powerhouse! This week we have 4 MVP Super-Stars! We had an incredible game last Saturday morning despite the fact that 98% of our team was up late Friday night at the Sugartown Spring Fair. There is just no stopping these girls. When I asked who was tired that early morning game, not one girl spoke up. They were pumped and pumped to WIN!

Bridget F. is new to lacrosse this season and is catching on quickly. She scored her first goal this Saturday morning and had many great assists and passes. Bridget works hard at practice and in every game. She is a sweetheart with a serious sports ethic. Look out! She works hard and is always on her game at practice. Bridget does many other sports and is a fabulous all around athlete.

Elizabeth D. played an incredible game as well on Saturday morning. Elizabeth is a 1st year player with GCVGL. She has improved so much since the first practice and has excellent stick skills which get better every week. This week she was our Center Starter and all I can say is WOW! She had a bunch of great defensive blocks and was able to get our ball back more than a few times. Great stick skills and a valuable teammate with a positive attitude make her a pleasure to coach.

Reilly- Kate F. is a returning 2nd year player to GCVGL. Her stick skills are very solid and you can always count on her to catch the ball and make great passes. I have lost count how many goals she is up to this season, because she is up to quite a few but scored 2 more in Saturday’s game. Reilly Kate is always going for the net and looking for a great shot but knows when to pass and set up a great corner for a teammate to score. She is a pleasure to coach and is a wonderful teammate and daughter.

Jordan G. Back again for another season with us at GCVGL. Jordan had her first goal of this season this Saturday morning. Jordan works hard at practice and plays well on both defense and attack. She is a fighter for the ball and never gives up-ever. Her stick skills are constantly improving. Jordan is always happy and smiling and willing to play any position asked of her. She has wonderful sportsmanship and always tries her best.

These 4 girls have completely proven that they deserve to be this week’s STAR MVP’s. They work hard and work well together with the rest of the team. They pay attention during practices, they take it seriously and show dedication and excellent sportsmanship. They make their coach’s PROUD! Congratulations to Bridget, Elizabeth, Reilly Kate and Jordan.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Kate B. and Kate D.
From Coach Heather Fieldler: Kate B. is a second year player for GCVGL. She is dedicated player who is really understanding the game of lacrosse and the field positions. She is a quiet girl who comes alive on the field and has great determination. Kate B. pay attention during practice which she rarely misses and is always ready for what comes next. Kate is really getting the hang of catching and throwing and it really shows in our recent games.
Kate D is also a great athlete and works hard at perfecting her game. She plays well in any position and has great stick skills. Kate D is great at ground balls and taking the ball down the field. Kate D has also played for GCVGL for 2 years. As a coach it is great seeing the transformation of the players from year to year and these 2 girls both make me extremely proud—both on and off the field. They are wonderful teammates and are both committed players. Congratulations to Kate B and Kate D. - you are this week’s shining stars- MVP’s. WAY TO GO SHARKS!

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Brenna R. and Mia C.
From Coach Heather Fieldler: Brenna R. Is a second year player with GCVGL. She is a tiny powerhouse and shows strength and determination as well as incredible speed and agility. She is an athletic natural and always is sure to impress on the field. Brenna plays whatever position she is asked and plays it well.
Mia C. is new to lacrosse this year, but you would not know it by watching her in action. She has great stick skills and is a fast player who really enjoys a wing position where she can run (she is fassst!) and pass. Mia works hard at practice and is a player who always performs to the best of her ability during the game. Congratulations Brenna and Mia. You are this week's MVP's.
